According to Consequence Of Sound, Frank Ocean will be headlining three music festivals in 2017. The outlet, who have a record of being right when it comes to high-profile festival headliners, report that Ocean will perform at Washington’s Sasquatch! Festival, Hang Out Festival in Alabama’s Gulf Shores, and New York’s Panorama Festival next year. He has already confirmed performances at London’s Lovebox Festival and Denmark’s NorthSide Festival.
Following the release of his critically-acclaimed new album Blonde, Frank Ocean has yet to do any live performances. The elusive R&B singer has barely done any interviews, either, with a single conversation in The New York Times as the sole piece of press he’s committed to following the release.
Blonde itself was an independent release for Ocean, who turned in the visual album Endless to fulfill an obligation to Def Jam, and then immediately followed it up with Blonde. According to reports there was no love lost between Ocean and his label, who couldn’t seem to work well together.
Since the singer seems to be doing fine on his own, it’s likely that he’ll be confirming more live performances throughout 2017, and all of his long-suffering fans will finally get a chance to hear their favorite Blonde songs. I, for one, will do everything in my power to hear “Nights” live as soon as I can.
