Tonight’s episode of Law & Order: SVU focuses on an athlete who drugs and rapes women. It sounds similar to what former NFL safety Darren Sharper is accused of, but there’s a bit of a twist. You see to stay current, SVU rolled with a promo featuring a Ray Rice-esque elevator scene. And to be honest, it’s awful—like so awful it hurt my brain. Despite the seriousness of the scene, I laughed out loud. Not because I’m a bad person mind you (though I am), but because the acting is so laughably bad. And the lead up to the scene doesn’t even make sense.
I get that that SVU wants to hit on trending topics but dear God, can somebody at the Peacock stop them?
