Just one week after a U.S. Justice Department investigation resulted in the takedown of FIFA (the governing body of International Soccer), FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced Tuesday afternoon that he will step down.

FIFA came under fire after 14 FIFA executives were charged with multiple charges, including corruption, racketeering and conspiracy. Blatter also announced that he would stay on as president before an election for a new president would take place, which might not happen until as late as October.
