The Mississippi State Bulldogs’ historic 2014, in which they went 10-3 and broke through to the upper echelon of the SEC for the first time, was one of college football’s most fun stories last season. Led by then-sophomore QB Dak Prescott (returning for this upcoming season), they rose as high as No. 1 in the AP rankings before falling off late. For a while there, you could say they were the new hotness.
And it appears Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen knows a thing or two about the new hotness, as he walked into SEC Media Day with the hottest kicks on the planet… the Adidas Yeezy 350 Boost low-tops. When a reporter asked Mullen why he was wearing them, as if it isn’t obvious, Mullen spelled it out:
Mullen on his Yeezys: "I try to be swagged up. I've also got some sock game going."

If Andy Staples is the one who asked this, I have only this to say: THE ONLY REASON ANYONE WEARS YEEZYS IS BECAUSE THEY’RE TRYING TO BE SWAGGED UP. YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT, ANDY. And when a different reporter asked the much more relevant question — “How did you manage to get a pair?” — Mullen came back with a response that might make you laugh, or become very angry.
Mississippi State is sponsored by Adidas, which means it’s entirely plausible that Mullen got those for free as a perk for being the head coach. Think of that when you’re looking on eBay for a pair with bids lower than $300. It’s good to be the coach.
