Justin Timberlake’s week-long residency on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon concluded last night with the J’s performing their most popular bit: “History of Rap.” Unlike most fourth installments in series, like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, “History of Rap” is still as good as the first time JT and Fallon did it, because it’s still JT and Fallon covering the Fat Boys, Notorious B.I.G, Missy Elliott, Salt-n-Pepa, Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, and Kurtis Blow, among others, before ending with Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.”
Wait, wait, wait, the Fat Boys? Disregard what I said: “History of Rap, Vol 4.” is the A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master of the “History of Rap” series. (That’s a good thing.)
