MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski Says Miley Cyrus’s ‘Deeply Disturbed’ VMAs Performance Was ‘Disgusting’

Not so long ago, Miley Cyrus was Hannah Montana, America’s most popular chipmunk, a wholesome face that appeared on every third beach towel at summer camps across the country. Today, however, she’s MILEY CYRUS+ME=F*CK, a twerking, jerking 20-year-old who dry humps bears and did you hear she twerks (poorly).

Last night at the Video Music Awards, she cosplayed as Cynthia from Rugrats, grinded against Robin’s thick, and felt herself up with a foam finger — all and all, pretty normal behavior for a woman who spent years churning through the Disney misery factory. If I had to dress like that, I’d “act out” like this, too. She’s Julie Taylor gone wild.

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski disagrees, however. On today’s Morning Joe, she said the following about Cyrus:

I think that was really, really disturbing. That young lady who is 20, is obviously deeply troubled, deeply disturbed, clearly has confidence issues, probably eating disorder and I don’t think anybody should have put her on stage. That was disgusting and embarrassing…That was not attractive. That was not fun. That was not funny. That was really, really bad for anybody who’s younger and impressionable and she’s really messed up…The whole thing was cringe worthy but I feel bad for her. She is a mess. Someone needs to take care of her. Someone needs not to put her on stage and make a complete fool of herself.”

I imagine “someone needs to take care of her” was followed with a *wink wink* R.I.P. Miley, eaten by a bear.
