Earlier this month, Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof retweeted hate messages he was getting after the Breaking Bad finale from people still angry about the ending of Lost. Shortly afterward, Lindelof wrote a guest column for THR in which he talked about Breaking Bad and also said, “Alcoholics are smart enough to not walk into a bar. My bar is Twitter.”
That statement was prophetic, as Damon Lindelof has deleted his Twitter account.
The prolific tweeter deleted his account sometime late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning, after a one-liner very much indicative of his mischievous social-media spirit: “After much thought and deliberation, I’ve decided t” … was all it said.
Shortly after, his account was dead. (Or was it dead THE WHOLE TIME?) [The Wrap]
Twitter doesn’t fully delete all of a user’s data until 30 days have elapsed, so there’s a chance Lindelof could change his mind and bring all of those tweets back. It would be a shame to lose some of that risk-taking humor, like the times he used Twitter to pitch awesome Terminator movies, to joke about his own salary, to say January Jones sucks at acting, to go off on Justin Bieber’s stupid hat, and to apologize for putting Alice Eve in her underwear. (DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR THAT, EVER.)
That’s all, folks. Pour a little out for the homies, put on your favorite Boyz II Men goodbye ballad, and do your level best to explain this news to your polar bears.
