It’s Jimmy Fallon’s 40th birthday and to celebrate the occasion, Seth Rogen and James Franco decided to pop out of a cake and surprise him. At least that’s what we’re led to believe by the bulk of this clip, but it’s really just a big swerve.
Franco gyrates around while Rogen attempts to steady the segment and reveal their true surprise: Stevie Wonder to serenade The Tonight Show host with a copyright free version of “Happy Birthday.”
All that’s missing is actual cake. I don’t know about you folks, but when I see a birthday cake, fake or otherwise, I expect to be eating cake at some point.
