I don’t watch commercials. Ever. Everything I watch is a screener, downloaded, or on my DVR, so I have no need to interact with advertising. I used to see commercials during NFL games, but with the commercial-free Red Zone channel, I honestly can’t remember having seen an ad since the Super Bowl. But last night, during the New Girl, I got sucked right in to a Samsung commercial featuring Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. They popped up on my screen, and I couldn’t bring myself to fast forward.
Who could? Basically, it’s an advertisement for the world’s best celebrity couple.
The thing is, it almost didn’t feel like an ad. It felt like Sheperd and Bell just goofing off and being super cute, like they’re always doing (and, as always, being respectful of their baby by NOT putting the baby in the ad). I mean, I recognized it as an commercial and all, but to be honest, I thought it was for the iPad because I wasn’t looking that closely, and I feel like Bell and Shepherd could afford an iPad, so that’s probably what they actually have at home, but I have no problem believing that everything in the ad is 100 percent authentic.
