A new season of The Celebrity Apprentice kicked off last night and boy did things get awkward when the contestants were asked to raise money for a charity bake sale and Keshia Knight Pulliam, AKA Rudy Huxtable from The Cosby Show, refused to call Bill Cosby to ask for a donation, a move that annoyed members of her team and eventually led to her being fired by Trump at the end of the episode. Gee, I WONDER WHY?!
“I really believe, if you’d called that gentleman, he would’ve helped you,” Trump declared, “even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years because you were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever.”
Obviously, this was filmed prior to the Cosby rape sh*tstorm erupting, but it’s still pretty remarkable that the show’s producers didn’t edit this stuff so that it wasn’t so uncomfortable. Or NBC could at least have added some sort of disclaimer to the program. So to everyone involved — YOU’RE fired!
