Christmas may be seven months away, but Netflix has just released the teaser for that Bill Murray Christmas special we told you about before. If pensive Bill Murray wearing reindeer antlers doesn’t do it for you, Netflix also gave some more details via a press release sent out this morning:
Written by Sofia Coppola, Bill Murray and Mitch Glazer and directed by Sofia Coppola, A Very Murray Christmas is an homage to the classic variety show featuring Bill Murray playing himself, as he worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a terrible snow storm in New York City. Through luck and perseverance, guests arrive at the Carlyle hotel to help him; dancing and singing in holiday spirit.
In addition to a guest stars George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Miley Cyrus and Maya Rudolph, which we previously mentioned, the cast is now said to include Michael Cera, Chris Rock, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Rashida Jones, David Johansen (also known as Buster Poindexter), Paul Shaffer “and more.” So, you can probably expect some crazy cameos showing up for what will almost certainly be the most surreal holiday variety special ever.
