In the very good Community Season 6 finale, the Save Greendale Committee pitched what they’d want a seventh season of their lives to be. Britta ruins everything, Chang farts, Jeff hangs out with nerdy redheads, etc. It was a typically meta way for Dan Harmon to deal with his show’s uncertain future: Is it done, or will there be a #AndAMovie, or how about another season?
Harmon has temporarily gone off the grid — “I’m gonna delete my Twitter app and take a couple weeks off the internet and no interviews and I love you” — but Yahoo is reportedly in the process of renewing Community for another season. Hopefully with more Ice Cube Head.
I hear conversations continue between the Internet giant and Community producer Sony Pictures TV for more episodes. Neither side would comment, thought Yahoo left the door open with the following statement through a spokesperson:
“With the season six finale of Community airing today, we’re continually excited by how much fans are engaging with the series. Now that all episodes are available for binge viewing, stay tuned for how we keep Community delighting its fans.” (Via)
So, will there be more Community? Maybe, probably, maybe.
