It really doesn’t matter how good this episode of SNL is. The fact that Tracy Morgan is back in Studio 8H and telling jokes again after having gotten into a horrible accident that nearly ended his life is simply more than enough. Anything more than that is the proverbial cherry on top, like, say, the cast of 30 Rock reuniting.
Of course @RealTracyMorgan brought his @nbc30rock crew with him! #WelcomeBackTracy #SNL pic.twitter.com/8XEbYBeIGS

Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin (who also appeared in the cold open with Larry David) were there, as was Jane Krakowski. And Jack McBrayer. No Dr. Spaceman, though, which seems like a missed opportunity. But it was still great to see everyone back in Jack Donaghy’s office, near his thoughtful window staring spot. There were Psy jokes, and Smash references, and Fey saying, “We’re so happy that you’re OK, but we’re even happier that you’re ready to make people laugh again,” and oh man, I miss 30 Rock so much.
“I was in a terrible car accident more than a year ago. It was awful, but it also showed me how much love and support I have in this world… People are wondering. ‘Can he speak? Does he have 100% mental capacity?’ The truth is, I never did. I might even be a few points higher.”
I also missed Tracy.
