Comedy titan Bill Burr has his animated Netflix series at the ready for next month and now this 1970s-set series has graduated from simply having a teaser to rolling out a proper trailer.
Clocking in at just over two minutes, the first official F is for Family trailer showcases Burr as suburban dad Frank Murphy in an era “when men were men and dads were kings.” He’s got kids with varying dispositions, a wife that seems incredibly patient and very 1970s, dad-like opinions about female vampire astronauts and the joys of chugging a cold one while behind the wheel of a car. Joining Burr in the voice cast are Laura Dern, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell, with The Simpsons writer Michael Price sharing writing and executive-producing duties with the comic. Here’s how Burr summed up F is for Family when it entered production last year:
“[It’s] the show I’ve always wanted to do. It captures all the characters of my childhood the way I remember it to be. Fortunately Mike Price and everyone at Wild West [Television] seems to know the same people I knew growing up. It’s going to be a lot of fun to tell these stories.”
This cheerfully profane series is slated to premiere on December 18 with six serialized episodes waiting for whoever elects to hit play on Netflix.
