Here’s how Marc Maron welcomed Alison Brie on his WTF podcast earlier this week: “*talks about condoms and lubrication for two minutes* Now I feel filthy doing that before introducing Alison Brie, who is charming and attractive and funny, smart, talented.” No wonder after their chat, during his outro, he asked himself, “Am I the creepy old guy?” I’ll leave that up to you guys to decide (the commenters on his website sure think so — “Sweet Jesus, Marc is awful with young women. How condescending is he throughout this interview? Dude is practically using a baby voice for huge chunks of the conversation,” which, true), mostly because I’m afraid we’re ALL the creepy old guy, but Alison was as funny, charming, and well spoken as ever. She discussed her religious background, real last name (Schermerhorn, which is also the name of a street in Brooklyn), and, naturally, naked photos of herself.
This is post-college, but I know that naked photos exist of me from like this trip with friends to Lake Tahoe…it was snowing, and again just more for humor…[I] would like take off all my clothes and go run outside and be like a little wood nymph and then like get on a weird exercise machine…I feel like if those photos got out there, I would have to then release other nude photos to be like, “No, wait…see, no, actually when I’m trying to look good naked, I could. A glimpse into the mind of Marc Maron as Alison was telling him all this:
And then he went back to thinking about himself playing a Robert Johnson song.
