HBO just announced a new sports mockumentary titled Tour de Pharmacy, which is good news because that’s a solid title, and really good news because it will reunite Andy Samberg and Murray Miller, the writer of HBO’s Wimbledon mockumentary 7 Days in Hell. Have you seen 7 Days in Hell? Dear Lord, watch 7 Days in Hell. It’s the best tennis comedy you’ll ever see that also contains an extended on-court orgy scene and Jon Snow from Game of Thrones as a dense tennis prodigy with an overbearing mother. Top five, at least.
But anyway, Tour de Pharmacy. According to Deadline, the new project will “take a look into the rampant doping in the world of professional cycling,” and in addition to Samberg, will feature a growing cast that already includes Daveed Diggs, Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Will Forte, Dolph Lundgren, John Cena, Mike Tyson, and Nathan Fielder. Bet you thought you’d never get to see Julia Ormond and John Cena star in a cycling movie together, huh? Well joke’s on you, dummy.
There’s not too much out there beyond that short description and wonderful cast list, but if you’re wondering if that’s enough to get me onboard for this, I have a one word answer for you…
