Daddy’s home. Or at least he will be come season two of Ash vs. Evil Dead.
Yes, we’re going to experience a face-to-face encounter with the father of Bruce Campbell’s beloved deadite death merchant Ash Williams. It’s going to be a familiar face, too. Six Million Dollar Man star Lee Majors has been tapped to play Ash’s dad and we’re fascinated to see how this is going to play out. Is it possible Ash’s questionable decision-making is genetic or will Majors’ Mr. Williams confirm that his son can be a bit of a selfish dummy sometimes? Maybe it’ll be an unholy swirl of both. TELEVISION: HOME OF ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!
The Lee Majors news is definitely intriguing, but fans of Sam Raimi + Bruce Campbell offerings are just as (if not more) worked up over the news that Ted Raimi will be popping up as Ash’s best friend. We like to think of Pablo and Kelly as Ash’s best friends, so this may take some getting used to. Ted, the brother of Ash vs. Evil Dead developers (plus so much more) Sam and Ivan, might ring a bell as Joxer from Xena or Lieutenant JG Tim O’Neill off Seaquest. He’s also popped up in a number of different capacities in the Evil Dead trilogy, so it’s not like the dude is coming in cold and will be STUNNED by the tidal wave of splatstick that’s waiting to greet him.
