It won’t premiere until Halloween night, but the new Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead has already been renewed for a second season. Horror fans were already hyped for this series, but this vote of confidence from the network is sure to fan the flames even more.
According to Variety, Starz is confident that there is plenty of story to tell to warrant a second season.
“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two decade-long appetite for more Ash,” said Carmi Zlotnik, managing director of Starz. “The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with season one.”
Honestly, this is great news. People have made it pretty clear that they are down to watch Bruce Campbell and his mighty chin smite monsters and crack wise whenever they get the chance. Ash vs. Evil Dead was originally going to just be a fourth Evil Dead film (the reboot doesn’t count in this timeline), but it got extended out to a full television season. Lucy Lawless is also riding shotgun for this season at least, so there is sure to be plenty of ass-kicking for all.
