We knew it would come up, and Anderson Cooper didn’t disappoint, bringing up Hillary Clinton using a private email server as Secretary of State, and what her handling of the scandal says about how she’ll handle tougher challenges.
Clinton basically admits her mistake when it comes to this issue, but also mentioned that it’s distracting from what she would actually do as president: “Tonight, I want to talk not about about my emails, but what people want from the president of the United States.”
Surprisingly, her rival, Bernie Sanders, agrees:
“The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails!”
“Thank you. Me too, me too,” Clinton says while laughing. The two candidates then shake hands – the picture of civility in American political discourse, while everybody cheers and then gives the two a standing ovation.
But the best part is when Cooper asks Clinton if she wants to respond to Lincoln Chafee’s opinion on the matter: “No.”
