While much of the country is still freaking the hell out about Donald Trump winning the presidency, one person who isn’t too worried is Bill Burr, who appeared on Conan Wednesday night following news of the shocking election results. Burr definitely wasn’t too broken up over the outcome, since he says he voted for neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton, and he also doesn’t understand why everybody is so upset. “Like, what’s going to happen to you,” he told Conan. “You liked Obama, he did call you at all in the last eight years? Did he ever put a sandwich on your table? You do that! You’re gonna keep doing that! You’re gonna be fine.”
While he may not be overly concerned about the outcome of the election, Burr admits that the unlikely win still shocked him, comparing it to the greatest sporting event of all time. “Dude, the star of a reality show is gonna run the country! The guy who decided if Bret Michaels or Cyndi Lauper would make a better CEO for a company that doesn’t exist is gonna be running stuff. It’s unbelievable!”
Burr also brought up the famous incident at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where Obama mercilessly roasted the current president-elect. “He humiliated the guy … sits there, the guy totally trashes him, he’s absolutely humiliated him, and within like 2-3 years he had that guy’s job.”
In addition to his thoughts on a former reality star running the country and taking the current guy’s job, Burr also shared some insight on Trump’s famous wall and why polls are a load of crap. While his points may or may not be valid, at the very least it’s refreshing to hear a different perspective to take a break from the collective hand-wringing going on this week.
