There’s A ‘Breaking Bad’-Themed German Restaurant Called Heisenberg Haus… In Australia

Look, you can sit around asking yourself questions like “Why is there a Breaking Bad-themed German restaurant called Heisenberg Haus in Brisbane, Australia?” but it’s probably best if you just accept it and move on. Otherwise, your brain will start creaking and sputtering as it attempts to process all that information — A Breaking Bad-themed German restaurant! In Australia! — and you won’t even get to the part where they serve what I’ve chosen to assume is a classic German/Australian vodka-based cocktail called “the Blue Crystal Surprise” that has Pop Rocks in it. That is an actual menu item. What a world.

From The AU Review:

Opened by The Fechner Family, this addition to Ipswich’s dining scene is part of the Circa 160 precinct, serving up a wide selection of beers from German breweries, and hearty, traditional food including Pork Knuckle with potato dumplings, beer gravy, and special sauerkraut, Chicken Schnitzel with pan-fried potatoes, and Slow Cooked Pork Belly with red cabbage and creamy potato mash.

The opening of Heisenberg Haus in Brisbane comes right on the heels of a George Costanza-themed bar in Melbourne, which is just delightful. What are you even doing down there, Australia? What else do you have up your sleeves, or wherever you keep things hidden in your sleeveless shirts? A Pete Campbell-themed sushi restaurant? A Law & Order-themed ice cream shop? Tell me! We can organize a whole tour.

That said, it’s not all good news, this Heisenberg Haus business. This is the most recent update on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Well, dang. What’s even the point now?
