Bret Easton Ellis And Rob Zombie Are Making A Series Based On The Manson Family, Because Why Not

When it comes to families that have their own television shows, the worst of the worst are on television. But why not give people who deserve no recognition or publicity a show because people will watch it? I give you the Manson family, thanks to Bret Easton Ellis and Rob Zombie. Via Total Film:

Variety reports that Fox are mulling over whether to greenlight the new show, which will be written by Ellis, with Zombie occupying the director’s chair,

“I have been obsessed with this insane story since I was a kid,” explains Zombie, “so obviously I jumped at the chance to be involved in this incredible project.”

“After speaking with Bret, I immediately realised that we shared the same vision for this epic madness.”

I must admit, I’ve watched a movie based on a killer and spent a few hours researching it. I’ve watched countless documentaries on the Manson family and it was disgusting and terrifying, but giving them a show with fictional elements is ridiculous. Rob Zombie had one hit song and now he’s a filmmaker, and Bret Easton Ellis wrote a book about a serial killer. Not really sure where I was going with that, but being excited to make a show based on a bunch of people being murdered creeps me out.

Like that, but every week for an hour.
