“Hillary Clinton” was on the latest SNL, but Hillary Clinton, minus the air-quotes, will be on tonight’s episode of Broad City. “2016” finds Ilana unemployed after getting fired from Deals Deals Deals; she decides to spend her free time helping out the Clinton campaign in Brooklyn. Her office smells like power, like “no bullsh*t,” and that’s before the Hildog herself walks in.

The song playing in that clip is the Sweater Beats remix of Kastle’s “Anything’s Possible,” which Broad City‘s music supervisor, Matt FX, said took him “all of seven minutes to find the tune, because I saw the scene, and it was a situation where I’m back in the room being like, ‘Gotcha!’”
The Comedy Central series pulled off the Hillary cameo because Amy Poehler, who memorably impersonated Clinton on SNL, is Broad‘s executive producer, and the “episode’s director also had a friend who works for the campaign.” Still, I can’t help but think Ilana and Abbi would support Bernie Sanders. Ilana would approve of his drug policies, and Abbi would like the fact that he’s a senator from Vermont, the home of Phish. I guess it comes down to which of the candidates likes Sister Act more.
