We have a few months until Hannibal finally returns for its third season on NBC. First, we were treated to a new trailer, and Bryan Fuller has posted some more delectable details on Twitter about what to expect when the third season returns in June.

As a horror fan, it’s nice to see Fuller highlighting Vincenzo Natali’s Splice, as well as Neil Marshall‘s The Descent in the tweets above. That final detail definitely sheds some light on the subject matter that Fuller is pulling from for these new episodes — at least partially — and it’s Thomas Harris’ fantastic novel Red Dragon.
If last season’s Mason Verger storyline has anything to tell us, it’s that we’re probably in for a more f*cked up version of “The Tooth Fairy” than what we’ve previously seen in Manhunter or 2002’s Red Dragon.
