‘Comedy Bang! Bang!’ Will Say Bye-Bye To IFC After Their Next Batch Of Episodes

Whether it’s being consumed in podcast or television form, Comedy Bang! Bang! has been always been something of an acquired taste. Alongside his seemingly endless cast of characters, creator/host Scott Aukerman regularly combined the worlds of wickedly dry satire and cartoonish buffoonery into an undoubtedly unique and often hilarious spoof on the stereotypical talk show — and really, television in general. Regularly squeezing such guests as Zach Galifianakis, Patton Oswalt, The Lonely Island, and pretty much every funny person working in the business today onto its couch (the aptly named Sir Couchley), CBB was never what you’d call a ratings smash, but it was ambitious, and isn’t that kind of the point of comedy, nay, art in general?

But just as all good things must come to an end, it looks like Comedy Bang! Bang! the show will be saying its last “Heynong Man” on IFC come December 10. The unfortunate news was delivered by none other than Aukerman himself today via Twitter.

The first two episodes of this final season will air on October 28, with two more episodes airing every Friday after that and the series finale wrapping things up on December 10.

According to a press release sent out by IFC, the final 10 episodes will feature appearances from CBB regulars like Jason Mantzoukas, Paul F. Tompkins, Matt Walsh, and Gillian Jacobs, as well as Malin Åkerman, Mike Colter, Kaley Cuoco, Ben Folds, Allison Janney, and former co-host/band leader Reggie Watts. A solid lineup, no doubt, but if Andy Daly doesn’t show up at some point to commit mass character suicide then you guaran-damn-tee that yours truly will be penning an extremely angry letter to the network.
