While the creators of Modern Family have more-or-less launched their campaign to win a sixth consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, Comedy Central is reminding the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences that there are still some “ballsy” programs out there. Specifically, shows like Broad City, Key & Peele, Drunk History, Inside Amy Schumer, and more, which are all on display in the network’s new and unique “Comedy Gold” Emmy consideration video.
Of course, as much as Danger and I would love to see the “Gigolo H-O-R-S-E” episode of Kroll Show win a ton of awards and praise – everybody knows C.T. was a monster in that one – you’re wiser to throw down your money on The Daily Show or The Colbert Report to extend Comedy Central’s Outstanding Variety Series gold streak to 13 years. In fact, let’s all cross our fingers ahead of time for the 2015 Emmys to remind us how wonderful The Colbert Report was. You know, one last time.
