If you’ve noticed that updates at Warming Glow have been running a little slower than usual, that’s because I spend most of my workday looking at Charlie Sheen stories and saying, “Dammit, I need something besides Sheen stories!” So here’s something NOT about Sheen: on March 18, Comedy Central will air a star-studded tribute to Greg Giraldo, the excellent stand-up comic who died of a drug overdose last fall at the age of 44.
Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien and Sarah Silverman are among those to appear in a TV tribute to late U.S. comedian Greg Giraldo, Comedy Central said. Also to appear on “Give It Up For Greg Giraldo” are Jim Gaffigan, Colin Quinn, Dave Attell and Lewis Black.
“Featuring never-before-aired, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the late comedian himself, ‘Give It Up for Greg Giraldo’ takes viewers through career highlights from roasts, stand-up specials, pilots and numerous television and live appearances,” the network said. [UPI]
What a delightful story about TV news. My favorite part was how it had nothing to do with Charlie Sheen. However, since we’re talking about the drug-induced death of a performer in his 40s, I may as well say it: shoulda been you, Charlie Sheen.
