Former Dharma And Greg star Thomas Gibson could definitely use a bit of that mellow attitude that floated around on that sitcom. Gibson is currently facing a suspension from Criminal Minds — and reportedly lost his chance to direct an episode this season — following an on set altercation with a writer/producer. According to Deadline, Gibson kicked co-executive producer Virgil Williams following a creative dispute on the script and ended up suspended for one episode, with more possible. The star spoke to Deadline and apologized over the incident:
“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred,” said Gibson in a statement to Deadline. “We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and we always will.”
Deadline adds that Gibson may have been directing when the incident on set occurred and his chance at the directing chair this season may be canceled — he has directed six episodes in past seasons. It’s also reportedly the second such incident for GIbson during his tenure on Criminal Minds, with another altercation resulting in the need for anger management classes.
GIbson has been with the show since it started in 2005 and the show is prepared to return for its twelve season in September. Hopefully GIbson doesn’t end up working with The Rock in the near future. You don’t want to kick The Rock.
