Give the people what they want at the People’s Choice Awards (which aired last night), and what they want is The Big Bang Theory to win Favorite TV Show and Favorite Network TV Comedy. This is why the people can’t have nice things.
Elsewhere, Pitch Perfect 2 is apparently our Favorite Comedic Movie; Grey’s Anatomy, our Favorite Network TV Drama; and Furious 7, our Favorite Movie. Can’t argue with that last one, actually. Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson took home the award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress over Jennifer Lopez, Kate Winslet, Rachel McAdams, and Blake Lively, who have joined forces to start the new Sisterhood of the Traveling Populist Award Shows.
During her acceptance speech, Johnson, who was quite good in Fifty Shades (she was the only one who knew what The People wanted: camp and nudity; she provided both), had a “wardrobe malfunction.” Presenter Leslie Mann “broke” her dress, and while the This Is 40 star and Alison Brie tried to fix it, Johnson joked, “Well, it’s not like nobody here hasn’t already seen my boobs.”
Ten bucks to Leonardo DiCaprio if he uses the same speech at the Oscars.
