Things Get Sloppy In The Star-Studded Trailer For ‘Drunk History’ Season 4

Comedy Central is going through a bit of an upheaval at the moment, with respected but little-watched series like The Nightly Show getting the ax and the quality of beloved mainstays like Inside Amy Schumer dropping in recent seasons. Thank god, then, for Drunk History, a steadfast, vomit-filled beacon of hope we can rely upon in this ever-evolving television landscape. And as the series gears up for its fourth season, it’s comforting to see that some things never change.

The new season four trailer features a dizzying number of cameos from the likes of Alia Shawkat and Aubrey Plaza (who we already know are playing Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, respectively, in a segment narrated by Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda), as well as Tony Hale, Josh Charles, Joe Lo Truglio, Gabourey Sidibe, Thomas Middleditch, Michael Cera, Busy Phillips, Patton Oswalt, Allison Tolman, Jack McBrayer, Dave Grohl, Elizabeth Olsen, and Rachel Bilson. SNL cast member Kyle Mooney also stars, in what appears to be a segment about my personal favorite folk hero, Sam Patch (who I wrote a report on in fourth grade, NBD), famous for leaping over Niagara Falls with his pet bear.

Returning narrator Chris Romano promises, “You’re not going to believe what you see, but you’re going to believe what you hear.” We’re not entirely sure what that means, but we’re excited nonetheless.

Season four of Drunk History hits Comedy Central on September 27.
