Eva Longoria, a.k.a. Gabrielle Solis from those couple of season of Desperate Housewives I watched, is going to be joining the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine this season according to The Wrap. Longoria’s character will be involved in a three episode arc in which she plays a love interest to Andy Samberg, so it sounds like us Peralta-Santiago shippers are going to have to wait even longer. Boo, hiss.
In the show’s second season, Longoria will appear as Sophia, a defense attorney who faces off against Samberg’s Jake in court while catching his attention in the process.
Longoria joins other season 2 guest stars including Kyra Sedgwick, who will appear in two episodes as the longtime nemesis of Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugher), former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens, appearing as himself, and Jenny Slate, who will appear in the season premiere.
Well that other casting news sounds amazing anyway, especially since Jenny Slate absolutely nails everything she touches and would blend in perfectly with this cast. As far as that Eva Longoria love interest business goes, though … Well, I guess he’s got a type? Anyway, I’ll just leave you with this.
Season two of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres on Sunday, September 28th.
