Season 1 of The Simpsons was released on DVD on Sept. 25, 2001, shortly before “Treehouse of Horror XII” premiered. Since then, 17 more seasons have come out: 2-17 and 20. Well, I have some bad news for fans of seasons 18-19 and 21-25: You’ll never get to that proverbial fireworks factory because Fox is discontinuing the release of The Simpsons on DVD.
I have worse news for fans of seasons 18-19 and 21-25: Watch Season 6, instead.
.@thesimpsons #EverySimpsonsEver I personally am v sorry to see DVDs discontinued We did them purely for the love of hearing ourselves talk

@TravWalling @TheSimpsons We will do commentaries for all downloads and possibly a master DVD when (if) show ever goes off air.

With the existence of Simpsons World, not to mention general disinterest for recent seasons, there’s really no need for the DVDs to keep coming out, except for Simpsons completists. So, all of us. Guess we’ll have to wait until the complete series boxset is out, sometime in 2193.
