A couple things we know to be true:
- Now that the Game of Thrones television show is ahead of the books it’s based on, the average viewer no longer has advance knowledge of which character will be the next to meet his or her earthly end.
- You can bet on just about anything.
Which conveniently brings us to the latest round of Game of Thrones character death odds, as compiled by the betting site Bovada.

Some notes:
- The last time we checked in with these odds was after the season six premiere. Since then, a few things have changed: Alliser Thorne, previously at 5-2, is no longer on the board, because that bet paid off; Sansa has moved from 11-1 to 25-1 on account of her now being guarded by Jon Snow and a gaggle of Wildlings; and Melisandre has moved from 30-1 to 14-1 on account of Brienne giving her the icy “I know about the blood magic” stare.
- Ramsay seems like a bad bet at 10-1, at least at this point, because he and the High Sparrow are the biggest villains left. Probably wanna keep them around a bit. There are other non-death fates that will suffice in the interim.
- The best bet here is probably… who? Grey Worm at 20-1? That feels right. He was mighty upset last week, and people who get upset tend to do crazy, dangerous things. He wouldn’t be a great bet at, say, 5-1, but at 20-1 there’s a little value there.
Really wish I had placed all of my money on “a crapload of Khals” last week. In fact, the smart money is pretty much always on “whoever Daenerys is angry at.” Little tip from me to you.
