Garret Dillahunt — i.e. Burt Chance in Raising Hope TWO characters on Deadwood, and a recurring character on the forthcoming final season of Justified — is one of my very favorite actors, and one of the best guys in the business. I had no idea he was married, however, and obviously I didn’t know he was married to Michelle Hurd, perhaps best known for her role on Law & Order: SVU.
Anyway, a few days ago, Michelle Hurd posted her account of an inappropriate sexual touching at the hands of Bill Cosby while she was a stand-in on The Cosby Show. But those allegations were published in a private Facebook post. For that reason, I won’t recount the story, except to say that Bill Cosby’s actions in it are consistent with other stories that we have heard about him.
That Facebook post wasn’t meant for public consumption, and when a few media outlets like The Wrap asked for permission to publish the story, Hurd reportedly denied them. The Wrap — who is already in trouble this weekend for running a stunningly terrible defense of Bill Cosby, originally titled “The Rape of Bill Cosby” — ran the story anyway.
Garret Dillahunt was not pleased, and for good reason.
Excellent work, "journalist." That was not your decision to make.

"Can I print this story?"
"Absolutely not."
Prints anyway.
Classy. Why ask if there's no possibility of "no"?

My wife is the strongest, most honest person I know. The way she has conducted her life is unassailable. I am proud of, and humbled by her.

See what I mean about Dillahunt being one of the best guys in the entertainment industry?
