Once you go Pappy McPoyle, you can’t ever go back. Just ask Guillermo del Toro. #SunnyFXX @RealGDThttps://t.co/ywYRGSzdRv

Guillermo del Toro has fallen too far down the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia rabbit hole. How do we know this? It’s because the man cannot de-McPoyle. He’s in too deep!
The Pan’s Labyrinth director popped up on It’s Always Sunny this week to once again play Pappy McPoyle, the lunatic patriarch of the weirdest brood on television. GdT did a bang-up job in the episode and now we’ve been treated to some bonus Pappy via the show’s Twitter account. In a “behind-the-scenes” clip, Catherine Reitman (a.k.a. Maureen Ponderosa) attempts to chat with del Toro in Pappy mode and the results are gloriously insane.
Reitman: “What’s the movie that really stands by and it feels like your trademark?”
del Toro: “A large piece of onion with a little butter sings better than a large swallow.”
Words to live by. Not sure if that claim about the onion would hold up if challenged by someone that practices bird law, but that’s for the courts to decide.
In addition to channeling Pappy McPoyle and all the delicious milk that comes with that gig, del Toro has been keeping busy with quite a few things. Did you come across del Toro saying he’d do whatever Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima desires? It’s definitely a story worth catching up on.
