‘Hamilton’ Is Getting The ‘Drunk History’ Treatment Next Season

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton is a runaway smash. The Broadway musical recently cleaned up at the Tonys, setting a record 16 nominations and nabbing 11 wins while capturing the hearts of anyone who could get a ticket (even those who were left empty-handed at the box office fell in love). Basically, everyone adores the musical about Alexander Hamilton’s life. Lin-Manuel Miranda created a perfect fusion of traditional Broadway play with a healthy mix of modern music and sensibilities. It doesn’t hurt that the source material is strong, either.

Now, Hamilton’s story will add a bottle or five of alcohol to his tale in Drunk History. His feud with Aaron Burr will be navigated through sloshed slurs, and it’ll be told by the one man who is best equipped to recount his story (while completely wasted): Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In an announcement at San Diego Comic Con, Comedy Central revealed that Drunk History’s fourth season would be dropping 10 new episodes in our lap starting Tuesday, Sept. 27. As usual, Derek Waters will be doing his best to edge the narrator towards oblivion, and everything will be funny.

Now, to those who take umbrage at Hamilton’s changes to history: There’s no dramatic license like a semi-coherent ramble that’s supposed to be a recollection of an important historical event.
