Another solid month of fresh content is on the horizon for HBO NOW in September. And on top of new film additions like Wild and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and original programming like the sure to be hilarious Ferrell Takes The Field, HBO NOW has also established the Emmy Nominees Collection, which will give subscribers a chance to catch up on shows like Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Veep, and Olive Kitteridge before the Sept. 20 awards ceremony.
Let’s take a deeper look at September’s HBO NOW highlights.
Wild
Reese Witherspoon gave one of her best performances to date in this adaptation of the memoirs of Cheryl Strayed. Wild earned Witherspoon a host of major nominations, so prepare to be blown away by her raw intensity, as well as the overpowering beauty of the California landscape.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Rocky Horror is the ultimate cult film, and watching it is truly an experience. While going to a midnight theater for a raucous viewing with a plethora of other fans can be a blast, there is something to be said for being able to watch it from the comfort of your couch. This may be the best way to introduce the uninitiated, as well.
Project Greenlight
After a decade off the air, Project Greenlight is back for a brand-new season. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck return to find the next great filmmaker and give them the tools to make or break their burgeoning career. After such a lengthy hiatus, expectations are high, so this is not a show to miss.
Ferrell Takes The Field
“10 teams. 10 positions. One Will Ferrell.” As comedy legend Will Ferrell explores America’s Favorite Pastime from all angles, hilarity is bound to ensue. This is definite must-see for comedy fans and baseball fans alike.
