HBO‘s newest original series, Vice Principals, looks like one of the year’s most promising comedies. Co-creators Jody Hill and Danny McBride last collaborated on the terrific Eastbound & Down, and this time, the guys are going back to school to tell the tale of two vice principals — Neal Gamby (McBride) and Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) — who will go to great lengths to prove they’re the best candidate to take over for the departing principal (Bill Murray).
The supporting cast includes Busy Philipps, Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Georgia King, and Shea Whigham. Diverse and eclectic auteur David Gordon Green, who directed for Hill and McBride in Eastbound & Down, is also on board to helm at least one episode.
To help to get everyone ready for the July 17 premiere, HBO is releasing some character posters in the form of the yearbook photos, the first two of which you can see below here.
Vice Principals premieres on HBO on July 17, at 10:30 p.m.
