Hopefully, Kevin Spacey’s role in the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare game has helped to nourish your craving for all things Frank Underwood since the last season of House of Cards, but if not, then this month you’ll be able to catch up with his quest for political domination when the third season of the hit series becomes available to stream on Netflix. Other than the Emmy and Golden Globe winning show, there’s not many new titles to sink your teeth into in February (don’t forget to check out the titles leaving Netflix), but Magic City’s two seasons of Miami opulence are worth a gander. House of Cards (Feb. 27)

For two seasons we’ve watched Frank Underwood climb up the political ladder with brilliantly ruthless and sometimes murderous tactics. While the second season of Cards was not as sturdy as the first, it ended on a strong note. Kevin Spacey’s performance continues to be one of the best things on any show, streaming or on TV right now, and this third season will likely keep the thespian’s name on the award season ballot come next year.
RoboCop (Feb. 21)
There really was no need to remake Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 allegory concerning the confluence of the human spirit and technology. Jose Padilha’s version didn’t retain any of the metaphoric power of the original, but there’s some nice action set-pieces as well as a nightmarish scene depicting Murphy’s remains under the armor suit.

Many of Nicolas Cage’s films seem to be heading straight to VOD these days, but David Gordon Green’s Joe proves that Cage can still turn in a great showing with the right material. Tye Sheridan, who is building quite the impressive filmography, turns in another fine performance as Cage’s young charge.
