While House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black may garner them Emmy recognition, Netflix isn’t just interested in making content for adults. For the last few years, the company has looked to get into the realm of children’s programming — just like its main competitor, Amazon — through series such as TURBO: Fast, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, and All Hail King Julien. However, while adaptations of DreamWorks fare is all well in good, the company is now taking things a step further by rebooting some classics, and the trailer for the first of the bunch, Inspector Gadget, is now out.
The animation style might take some getting used to, but all the key elements of the series are there. Plus, no matter how things go, the new show can’t be any worse than the 1999 live action film starring Matthew Broderick, can it?
