Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg visited the Howard Stern Show to give a joint interview together this morning. Howard asked McCarthy about what’s been going on at The View, being that the shakeup last year saw herself and co-host Sherri Shepherd getting shown the door, and the re-hiring and subsequent quitting of Rosie O’Donnell.
According to Wahlberg, who pipes up to speak for his wife, he predicted that the day McCarthy left, they’d end up asking her to come back, and that day has apparently come. McCarthy admitted that one of the producers called and asked if she’d be open to it, to which she responded that she wasn’t interested.
The View is pretty much tanking, and having Jenny McCarthy back certainly couldn’t hurt at this point, but the timing conveniently coincides with the growing controversy of the anti-vaxxer movement and Disneyland measles outbreak, so maybe they just wanted a Jenny McCarthy-sized stick to poke the hornet’s nest with.
Either way, it sounds like our nightmare of Jenny McCarthy on daytime TV is still over. Expect a full denial from ABC any minute now.
