Whenever we talk about Jessica Jones or Luke Cage around here, at least one comment raises the question of what’s going on with Iron Fist. The adventures of Danny Rand don’t seem to come up much, outside of one obscure reference in Daredevil, and fans are worried it’s being set aside. Turns out, though, not so much, according to revelations from New York Comic Con.
Specifically, Carrie-Anne Moss is quite literally a walking Iron Fist reference; she’s a gender-flipped version of bit character Jeryn Hogarth. Hogarth has been the Marvel superhero’s go-to lawyer for years; he got Danny Rand his company back, helped Luke Cage clear his name, kept the Heroes for Hire up and running as a concern, defended the Fantastic Four and the Avengers in court, and was the centerpiece of the only good bit in Civil War.
In other words, Moss is playing a character who has ties to pretty much everybody short of Daredevil, and we wouldn’t be surprised if she turns up in season two of that show, as well. While it’s not a concrete announcement that Iron Fist is shooting, if nothing else, having that piece in place sure makes it sound like the show’s on track. Now… who’s playing Danny Rand?
