As you may be aware, Jim Gaffigan is probably best known for his bit on Hot Pockets, and in the event that Hot Pockets are in the news for diseased, recalled meat, you can expect him to weigh in on the subject.
Unfortunately, this has led to Gaffigan dealing with hordes of obnoxious fans who will take any and all excuses to make Hot Pocket-related remarks to him; whether it’s on a Facebook photo of his 4-year-old daughter or yelling at him in public. He told Seth Meyers last night that as he was on his way to the airport after the show, “People will yell ‘Hot Pockets’ at me, and I don’t even know how to respond.”
This phenomenon extends beyond Hot Pockets, however. Gaffigan says that he made a joke about Subway once, and people are now apparently crediting him for “calling” the Jared Fogle scandal. I guess there are worse things to be falsely given credit for?
