Children are cretins at least nine times out of ten, especially when it comes to their supposed property. That’s the beauty of Jimmy Kimmel’s annual Halloween prank, it separates the selfish little kids from the good ones that you could possibly spend time with and teach to steal things from vending machines for you.
I actually don’t know what I’m talking about and don’t know how to handle children. These parents clearly do and they’ve taken part in the annual Kimmel tradition to create some truly memorable reactions from their kids. And I think we finally got our first kid to realize the entire thing is a big prank — the trouble with pranking an older kid or letting them go out trick or treating instead of school work. Most of the kids are pretty upset that they’ve lost their candy, especially after doing all that work the night before. But there’s the rare few that are OK with it or are at least smart enough to not show that they are completely devastated.
The little girl in front of the window who tries to hold her emotions back might be the best one. She seems so cool about it, even saying they can just go get more, but then gets hit hard after learning it was delicious candy. That’s the worst moment of her life up to that point most likely and Jimmy Kimmel is using it for entertainment. Then we’re using it for secondary entertainment. And you’ll use it to feel better about yourself. It’s fine cycle.
Kimmel also did it to his own daughter, the first time in the six years he’s been doing the annual prank. It doesn’t work very well, especially when the offer of pancakes is on the table.
