Fuller House made impact one week ago and the reactions were not very good. None of that matters, of course. The show has already been renewed for a second season by Netflix, ensuring more fun with the Tanners in the near future.
But that doesn’t mean those negative reviews don’t sting a bit. That’s likely why Seth Meyers had John Stamos read a few on Late Night, with some mixed results. Stamos actually seems a little flustered with a few of them and makes sure Meyers reads off the names attached to the reviews. Think of it like retweeting the review to all of your followers in the hope that one of them will come to your defense. That or Stamos is on the warpath.
He shouldn’t be. As he mentions, critics never really liked the original show that much either. Fans did, though, and so did the children of fans. There’s a built-in audience, and that’s not even mentioning all the Greek yogurt fans out there.
All that said, very nice necrophilia comment tossed in there. It deserves some high praise, even if Stamos is not a fan. You don’t usually get that kinda humor on NBC these days.
