Sometimes branded content is needed for an important cash injection into your favorite website/TV show/movie’s for its well-being. Everyone does it, ads are important to keep the system moving, and everyone is the better for it. Never would any type of product placement be overwhelming or on the nose, not in 2016. Consumers of this media are far too intelligent and aware of the going-on within the Hollywood system to fall for such obvious meta-commercials. C’mon, advertisers! But sometimes, a product is so wonderful that it naturally inserts itself into a late night segment that just so happens to create itself based on said product. It’s a self-fulfilling branding prophecy!
The rare self-fulfilling advertising prophecy emerged from Conan this week, as producer Jordan Schlansky went on the very show he produces to extol the virtues of the Philips Norelco Bodygroom. In typical Conan fashion, the the milky-skinned red head believed that only his expertly-coiffed do was the only hair on his body worth trimming, but Schlansky knew this to be wrong. During a partially-forgotten Vegas trip, Schlansky witnessed Conan’s back bush, a sort of reverse pubes that created a nest at the base of his back. Thankfully, this 100% natural segue lead to Conan getting his back trimmed for good. Thanks, Mr. Schlansky, thanks Philips Norelco forall of your fantastic products that always just happen to be there at a time of back bush removal need.
