Larry Wilmore got real on last night’s Nightly Show when he recapped the 2015 State of the Union in the opening segment. How’d he sum up President Obama’s performance? For starters, Wilmore said what many were probably thinking when the President outlined many of his plans for the next two years:
“Did he say we’re going to Mars? That’s dreaming big! That sounds like the old Obama, all audacious and hope-y.”
Then the bomb dropped. What bomb, you say? The one packed with just a little bit of wink and a whole lot of shade:
“Doesn’t he realize he just lost an historic election? Both houses by historic margins? Even his own party was deserting him. Doesn’t Obama know he won’t be able to get anything done in his last two years? Oh, he doesn’t give a f*ck!”
Here’s to two more years of winks, thrown shade, and political pissing matches — all of it televised for the viewing public.
