Lea Michele will always have a few permanent reminders of her favorite “quarterback” on her body. The actress debuted a new tattoo in memory of her late boyfriend Cory Monteith on social media Tuesday.
The number 5, which was the football jersey number of Finn Hudson, who Monteith played on Glee, is now tattooed on the side of Michele’s rib cage. Michele and Monteith met while on the set of the high-school musical-themed comedy, which ran for six seasons on FOX. The couple dated from 2011 until Monteith died in July 2013 of a drug overdose.
Michele captioned the photo: “And one more.. for my quarterback.. #5.” She also has another tattoo honoring Monteith’s memory — the actor’s last words to her, “If you say so,” on her rib cage. “If You Say So,” is also the name of a song Michele wrote about Monteith for her debut album, Louder in 2014.
The actress also shared another tattoo in honor of her grandma, who died earlier this week — a steaming hot cup of coffee on her finger. Michele captioned the photo highlighting her love for her late grandma on Instagram:
“I lost my beautiful grandma this week. She wasn’t your typical grandma. She gave me my first cup of coffee when I was 8 years old. She said something inappropriate to every boyfriend I’ve ever had. She never made pie or knit me a sweater. But she was my grandma and I loved her… More than anything.. I love you Grandma.”
