Last week on Legends Of Tomorrow, Confederate zombies nearly changed the course of the Civil War. This week, the Legends are going to try and keep the Cold War from going hot, despite the fact that Mick really hates the ’80s. And before you ask, yes, there is a Miami Vice nod.
Probably the most interesting angle, here, is that Ray Palmer is no longer the Atom, which frankly was an angle they should have ditched a while back. Now he’s sorta the new Captain Cold, and he and Mick are forming a strange sort of friendship. It’s fun not least because Mick’s bluntness pairs well with Ray’s kindness, although Mick might lose the crowd with his hatred of Cutting Crew and the decade of power ballads it belongs to. Come on, Mick, not even any love for “Every Rose Has Its Thorn?” “Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Til It’s Gone?” Not even “November Rain?”
While we’re on the topic of the ’80s, it won’t happen, but it would be kind of great if this show crossed over with The Goldbergs. Not least because we’re pretty sure Wendi McLendon-Covey could take most of the team in a fight. Seriously, the woman is fit. We’ll find out how the team’s adventures in 1980-something go at 8pm EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
