When it comes to religious experiences, most will say the loss of a loved one or the birth of a child will top their list. But what about events that make you question your faith or turn your back on the Lord? It carries an equally strong set of experiences that can change a life, but now it has what could be the strongest of all: Leonardo DiCaprio.
Teresa Palmer from Warm Bodies and the remake of Point Break stopped by Conan to discuss The Choice and ended up talking about how Leonardo DiCaprio caused her to turn her back on her faith. It isn’t in that Michael Stipe sort of way, but it is enough to make her rethink her devotion to the Lord. When you don’t like boys or girls and cooties are a big issue growing up, Jesus looks very appealing. Then toss in Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes and their role in Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet and those fears of the opposite sex start to melt away.
At least that’s what probably happened. It’s a little weird to mention being “married to Jesus,” so falling in love with a movie star and joining the rest of the teenage girls on planet Earth isn’t that bad. Then again, you can’t trust it.
